Newtbelly is a cat who's desperate to prove himself. He'll throw himself at challenges, no matter how big it seems - it's almost as if he expects himself to be invincible. Newtbelly values the opinions of his seniors above all others, and wants nothing more than to earn their respect. 

Though it may not be obvious, Newtbelly is naïve. He doesn't belive his seniors could place a paw wrong. This causes him to be very easily controlled by high ranks, or those he respects, instantly taking their word as law. Even if he has his own opinion on a situation, he'll push it to the side if one of these cats tells him it's wrong. After all, they know best.
